Meet the Designer

Hey y'all! My name is Mandi and I am the creative mind behind "Little Things by Mandi". I get to live my dream every day creating beautiful home decor to share with my amazing clients.

 I specialize in creating one-of-a-kind, high-quality custom wreaths, centerpieces, and faux floral arrangements. While I enjoy creating simple, elegant pieces, I find that I gravitate toward the over-the-top designs, and I rarely make anything "small". I'm very passionate about helping others along their creative journey whether it's through the content I share on my social media pages or in the private design school where I teach. I like to spread kindness and joy and lift others up along the way. I'm so happy you're here. I'd love for you to take some time to look around. And remember - be kind & let your light shine!

I am a young mom. I married my high school sweetheart at the age of 17 and we started our family right away. I have 3 phenomenal, exceptionally amazing children. Early on, it was very important for me to be present as a mother. I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom and spend my time nurturing my family. But I had a dream. And, in 2018, that dream came to fruition. I graduated as a registered nurse and began a career in cardiac nursing. Then... covid hit. The stress and pressure of being a nurse in a pandemic is something I wasn't prepared for. I found myself feeling completely drained and my tank was empty. It felt as though I didn't have the energy to be the present and hands-on mom I always was AND be a nurse. So, I decided to walk away from the bedside in late 2020 and hang up my stethoscope. I had always planned to go back...

Fast forward to 2021. I was feeling depressed and felt I lacked purpose. My kids were getting older, and I felt so unfulfilled. I needed something just for me. Something to occupy my time and allow me a creative outlet. So, I started dabbling in various niches. I tried embroidery for a while. It's very therapeutic but I'm admittedly not great at it and it didn't give me that sense of purpose I was looking for. I tried paper crafts, resin work, making t-shirts and other vinyl crafts. While I enjoyed these things, something was still missing. 

Late one night in April of 2022, I was doing a late-night Facebook scroll and I stumbled across a picture of this fabulous, over-the-top wreath. I was instantly intrigued. I had no idea these existed in the world. I was used to those big box store wreaths that literally everyone on your street could own. And right there, in that moment, my passion was born.

This picture speaks a thousand words. I am a big ol' silly goofball and I don't care who knows it! Haha. I always try to make a point to share silliness and laughter as often as possible. If you catch me live on my Facebook page, you'll see that a lot! Through struggling with my own depression and your standard adulting obstacles, I've found that laughter truly is the best medicine. I see so much suffering in this world and so often people lose hope, feel lonely, sink into their darkness. I want to give those people a moment of light. Even if for a short time, I want people to have felt better after spending some time with my silliness than they did before. Life is short. Any chance you get, take an opportunity to spread a little love, laughter and kindness.
